Tillandsia Vernicosa Purple Giant Pup

Tillandsia Vernicosa Purple Giant Pup

The color palette of this very architectural plant should be on any modern mood board. Her hues are on the muted darker pastel spectrum. Her leaves are stiffer and a silvery purple grey-green with a light dusty rose spike when it blooms. This is a medium sized air plant with stiffer leaves great for mounting, plant chandeliers, and other projects you need a really cool plant for. She has lots of trichomes that give her a slightly velvety-silver appearance and can grow to be around 10" wide.

Size: 5-6" tall and wide & currently blooming

Clumping: This plant can grow into a beautiful clump over time! Seeing Tillandsias dry out or appear to "die" is normal after it has bloomed and begun birthing little babies around her base. Once you start to see the mother plant dry out, keep her attached to her pups. You can clip her flower off when it dries out, but don't separate the pups to make sure the plant is strong and hearty enough to grow into a big clump over the years. With care, this plant can become a specimen worthy of passing down to your grandchildren.
Care: Likes brighter light, making sure to keep it out of any direct sun. See our care page for more detailed care suggestions.
